Second Meeting of the Circular Economy Dialogue Platform in Batumi
Following the success of our first meeting, we are pleased to invite you to the second meeting of the Circular Economy Dialogue Platform, which will take place on 17 September in Batumi.
The aim of the meeting is to:
- Introduce international trends in waste prevention and efficient resource use and adapt them to the local context;
- Discuss which initiatives are most relevant and feasible for the Adjara region;
- Explore opportunities for cross-sectoral partnerships and cooperation.
Topics to be discussed include:
- Building green value chains;
- International experience in waste prevention and resource efficiency;
- Innovative business models and practical examples (reducing packaging, reuse, recycling, food waste prevention, composting, and more);
- Encouraging behavioral change: the role of motivation, habits, and social norms;
- Georgia’s experience and implemented pilot projects.
The meeting will feature guest speakers, case studies, discussions, and group work, through which we will:
- Identify the most realistic and relevant initiatives for the region;
- Assess what approaches are most practical and acceptable to the local community;
- Pay special attention to ways of fostering cooperation between businesses, NGOs, educational institutions, and local communities.
As a result of the meeting, participants will gain insights into successful practices in waste prevention and resource efficiency, define regional needs and opportunities, and lay the foundation for new collaborative initiatives in Adjara.
The event is organised by the EU-funded project “Circular Cities and Regions in Georgia”, implemented by CENN in collaboration with ICLEI Europe. The project aims to strengthen climate resilience and support a just transition in Georgia by promoting waste prevention and advancing the planning and implementation of circular economy practices.
