As part of the EU-funded project “Circular Cities and Regions in Georgia,” implemented by CENN in collaboration with ICLEI Europe, the Youth Photo Blog Challenge “Discover Nature’s Circularity” was held. The aim of the competition was to empower young people (aged 16–24) living in Adjara and encourage them to explore circular processes in nature and discover how these models can serve as inspiration for human-made sustainable systems. Participants took part in online training on circular economy and blog creation, after which they developed their own works showcasing the diverse cycles found in nature.
The competition concluded with the announcement of the winner — Nia Khalvashi’s photo blog “The Water Cycle” was selected as the outstanding entry. Nia’s work presented the continuous and renewable cycle of water as a harmonious and circular model of nature, offering inspiration for designing sustainable systems based on principles of resource renewal and waste minimization. In recognition of her achievement, Nia received a certificate, an online course on waste management, and a tech store voucher from the European Union and CENN. Her blog is a powerful reminder that observing nature is a key prerequisite for developing circular systems that enable resource optimization and ensure a sustainable future.
