Europe Day in Batumi

On 21 June, in Batumi, CENN joined the Europe Day celebrations with the initiative — “Swap and Reuse”.

Promoting Circular Practices
The goal of the event was to introduce citizens to circular approaches and encourage them to take simple yet effective steps towards sustainability in their daily lives. The initiative brought together people who, through their personal involvement, strive to strengthen sustainable processes. During the event, visitors had the opportunity to see in practice how circular approaches work, how resources can be shared, and how reuse practices can serve as simple and accessible alternatives to single-use products.

Responsible Use of Resources — “Swap and Reuse”
As part of the event, participants had the chance to engage directly in a clothing and book exchange. Within this interactive format, visitors brought clothes or books and swapped them for other second-hand items. The exchange campaign allowed participants to experience the model of resource sharing in practice, which helped spark dialogue around responsible consumption and promoted sustainable consumption practices. The aim of the initiative was to reduce waste, encourage reuse of resources, and spread a culture of circular economy in everyday life.

About the Project

The Interregional Platform is part of the EU-funded project “Circular Cities and Regions in Georgia”, implemented by CENN in collaboration with ICLEI Europe. The project aims to strengthen climate resilience and support a just transition in Georgia by promoting waste prevention and advancing the planning and implementation of circular economy practices.
