On July 4, CENN, with the support of the European Union, hosted the first meeting to officially launch the Interregional Circular Economy Dialogue Platform.

The platform unites members of the Kakheti and Adjara regional platforms, as well as organizations and companies working at the national level to promote the circular economy.

Dialogue and Knowledge Exchange

The platform’s aim is to foster dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across regions, accelerating innovative solutions and supporting the practical implementation of circular approaches. The event highlighted both regional potential and international best practices.

Chiara Goluccia, a representative of ICLEI Europe, presented inspiring examples of successful multi-sectoral cooperation at the city level.

Learning Tour – Circular Practices in Action

In the afternoon, participants joined a learning tour to observe circular practices implemented in real-life contexts:

  • Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel: The hotel reduces single-use plastics through reusable dispensers, glass bottles, and partnerships with recycling companies.
  • Fabrika Tbilisi: Local businesses have introduced a deposit-based reusable cup system, helping to significantly cut down on plastic waste in the city.

About the Project

The Interregional Platform is part of the EU-funded project “Circular Cities and Regions in Georgia”, implemented by CENN in collaboration with ICLEI Europe. The project aims to strengthen climate resilience and support a just transition in Georgia by promoting waste prevention and advancing the planning and implementation of circular economy practices.
