Kochbaani House and The Body Shop: Sustainable Partnership for Nature and Beauty
The tourism and beauty industries are taking a significant step towards sustainability. “Kochbaani House,” an agro-space in Georgia committed to the “farm-to-table” concept, is partnering with the global brand, The Body Shop. Within the framework of this cooperation, “Kochbaani House” is completely removing single-use plastic hygiene products from guest rooms and replacing them with refill stations. CENN is delighted to be the initiator of this partnership, which represents an important precedent for minimizing waste and introducing ecologically responsible practices in Georgia’s tourism sector.
Kochbaani House is an agro-space based on the principles of sustainable development, combining local ecological production with a culture of hospitality. It operates on the basis of the “farm-to-table” concept—the entire process, from product production to delivery to the guest, is carried out on-site, which ensures high food quality, a transparent production chain, and minimized environmental impact.
The Body Shop is a cosmetics brand operating in the field of skincare and beauty products. The company is committed to a global mission—to create ethical and environmentally caring products. The Body Shop pays special attention to vegan and GMO-free products, which are created in accordance with the principles of sustainability and responsible consumption.
As part of the collaboration formalized between the aforementioned companies, “Kochbaani House” removed single-use plastic packaged hygiene products from the guest rooms and installed a refill station, through which dispensers are filled from large volume packaging. This decision significantly reduces both the amount of plastic waste and the company’s logistical costs.
As a result, hotel guests have the opportunity to use 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and GMO-free hygiene products. This decision fully aligns with the values of both “Kochbaani House” and “The Body Shop” and represents an important step towards introducing plastic-free, sustainable, and ecologically responsible practices in the tourism sector.
Kochbaani House is a member of the Industrial Symbiosis Network, established by CENN with the support of the European Union and in collaboration with ICLEI Europe under the project “Circular Cities and Regions in Georgia.” The network brings together businesses and sectoral associations from Kakheti and Adjara AR to promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, and the adoption of sustainable production through collaboration and resource exchange.
